No spring chicken…?

Chicken – Roast Chicken – ranks near the top of dishes that represent British culture. It used to be a seasonal spring meat, but is now readily available all year round. Buy the best you can afford, as this meat is probably one of the most intensively produced meats around. Cheap chicken has flooded the marketplace but this is cheap for a reason – the food stuffs are often laced with growth promoters and antibiotics.

It is unfortunate that the other poultry meats suffer from similar intensive methods of production. Again we are selective of the suppliers we use for our poultry, and in our method of preparation. All the chickens we source have natural diets of wheat, barley or cereals. We stock chicken to turkey, duck to goose, quail to guinea fowl, all prepared individually to suit your needs….
